KVPY 2020 Exam Pattern

Apart from knowing the important topics and chapters for the exam, it is equally important to be aware of the exam pattern as well. 

  • Mode: The test is conducted on the online mode i.e.It is a computer-based test.
  • Duration: The test is of 3 hours
  • Type of questions: Multiple-choice questions are asked in the exam
  • Parts: In every stream, there are two parts
  • Questions to be attempted: In SA stream, it is compulsory to attend all the questions. In SB / SX stream, any three sections in Part 1 have to attempted and Any two sections in Part 2.
  • No. of sections: There 4 sections in each stream; Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology

Marking Scheme

  • In Part A, for the incorrect answers, -0.25 marks are deducted. 
  • In Part B, -0.5 marks are deducted for the incorrect answers.
